I made a casual math game

Why isn't the learning fun in edu-games?

My daughter is learning arithmetic.. and in this day an age that means also training a lot in a bunch of math games the teachers use to keep the children at it. Most - all - of these games are a little disappointing. They have given up on making it the actual thing you're learning fun - instead doing the chore of learning is the baring thing you have to do to get to the fun parts. A little bit like forced watching of adds on the nauseating number of free to play mobile games she also plays.

What if the math was the fun?

Why couldn't the actual math be the fun? What if additon was a much fun as Candy Crush? I can't promise that I got there - but here's my attempt at this - I give you Number Crush

After building just the first addition game play itself - I started playing with making it more fun and competitive with a timer element, and progressive difficulty levels.

Turns out my daughter hated that - so as a stop gap I now made it possible to pause the timer if that's not your bag - I still think there's a better way where I ease into the flow of adding on time - but I haven't cracked that one yet.

Go ahead and play

Now it's your turn - can you make it to the boss level? Go ahead - add your way to the top.
